Types of Continuous Wear Lenses
You’ll find various wearing times available as well as lenses with different vision corrections.
Monthly
When lenses are available as “monthly”, this does not always mean continuous wear for 30 days. Certain monthly lenses may only be worn for up to 6 nights and 7 days continuously, but daily for 30 days. There are lenses available, such as the PureVision range, which can be worn for up to 30 days straight dependant upon your prescription.
Each pack usually contains 3 or 6 lenses, giving you many months of wear at a good price.
Fortnightly or 1-2 Weekly
Similar to monthly lenses, fortnightly does not always mean continuous when it comes to extended wear. Often times it means 14 days of daily wear, with them being taken out at night. The standard time when looking at fortnightly contacts is six nights and seven days of continuous wear.
